As you build your career, do not forget to build your life alongside it.
My former account officer who became like a sister to me has just been dropped by the bank after years of no life.
She was so devoted to her bank job that she couldn’t keep a relationship let alone marry. I tried matchmaking her with great men, but she would always not turn up for appointments. It was just her job or nothing.
When she was put in charge of ATM, it became worse, she worked even Saturdays and Sundays.
Now, the same bank has asked her to go. No husband, no child, no Marriage, no business, not even a solid relationship with anyone, including relatives because she neither returned calls nor replied messages.
It took extra strength for me to still remain her friend.
She is so confused right now. There are still many people like her, both men and women.
Nothing is wrong with building a career. You can build it simultaneously with your life. Do not neglect the most important aspects of life while building a career please.
