Enjoy Yourself But….

Yesterday was very busy within my neighbourhood. People were shopping as if things were going to be banned. Beer palours and hotels were busy, churches were also busy.

But one thing that was particularly spectacular was the fact that everywhere was dotted with boys and girls, men and women. Some necking and petting, holding hands and some publicly kissing and tightly hugging.

Today has gotten even busier with what I described above increasing in tempo. There is nothing wrong with catching fun, especially at festive periods like these. However, there is an urgent need for caution. There is a need to know that there is life after the festivities. And there is an unavoidable law of cause and effect. What may appear like fun today may leave an indelible physical or emotional scar on you or others around you. Therefore, I sincerely advise everyone to be careful, please.

Many had fun at periods like these in the past and are still regretting it now. Please learn from their experiences. Do not let it befall you before you learn. Experience can be a painful teacher. Let me be more specific.

MODERATE USE OF ALCOHOL: Use of alcoholic beverages is a common practice this period. This usually leads to so many unpleasant experiences such road traffic crashes, illicit sexual intercourse, rape, fights, injuries, sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies, death etc. Alcohol dulls your senses, distorts your good judgement and it also increases libido. Married men who may go out today with all these “plug and play” babes, please be careful so that you don’t contract diseases and take home to your wives. Babes too please be careful who you hang out with and what you do. Few minutes fun can leave everlasting regret and hurts. Be with your senses at all times please. Those who spend money, remember that schools will resume soon. House rents and other bills will creep up too.
